Eugene Nelson Pruett, 92, of Litteton, NC , formerly of Hopewell passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in South Hill Community Memorial Hospital. Mr. Pruett was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Hudson Pruett, a daughter, Eugenia Daryl Perdue and a grandson, Gene Ballowe. Eugene was an electrical supervisor with Allied Chemical for forty one years, a member of First Christian Church, loved his children, made contributions to many charities and loved helping others and his pets, a WWII decorated U.S. Army veteran serving mainly in the Pacific and the Philippines. He is survived by two sons, Keith C. Pruett and his wife, Sarah, Michael W. Pruett and his wife, Mildred, a daughter, Patricia P. Koren and her husband, Robert, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday, December 11, 2010 with the Rev.
